How To Heal Your Money Relationship: Resources for Coaches

April 9th, 2014 | 10 comments

Let’s talk cash! Some may say that it’s crass to come right out the gate with such a sentiment, but in truth, I think that’s part of the reason why so many of us (as people and as coaches too) have our relationship with money more than a bit topsy turvy. We don’t really want to talk about money that much –  but we do want it. We know deep in our heart that what we do as a life coach, health coach, or business coach is truly valuable – but we hesitate to charge what it’s truly worth. We would like an efficient, organised and steady stream of income, but often shy away from creating systems that are efficient, organised and steady. We want to live a rich and abundant life but have fears around ‘owning’ that – being concerned others will see us as greedy or selfish. Did…

Moving Beyond Fear as a Life Coach

June 3rd, 2013 | no comments

At the moment it feels to me like there is tonne of fear circulating through the Universe. This could simply be my radar, but I’m seeing it and hearing it from a lot of different places. Mostly I’m hearing it from brilliant, beautiful and talented life coaches, health coaches, business coaches and more, which just does not seem right. Some are my much admired life coaching or business coaching clients, some are peers, some are friends and some even family. And I’m over it. Harsh right? I know. It’s not really meant to sound that way BUT, in a way it IS meant too as well. Why? Because if it’s one thing that really makes me a combination of both sad and mad it’s seeing brilliant, beautiful and talented people and life coaches stopped dead in their tracks because of fear. Because of what might be. Because of might not…

Are You Playing Small as a Life Coach?

May 6th, 2013 | no comments

One of the things I see life coaches do far too often is play small. Sometimes really small. Despite the fact they may be amazing talented at being a life coach, brilliant at a particular skill, or radiant in certain circumstances, they water that talent down, hide their skill or dull their radiance. Deliberately. Why? Maybe you can tell me in a comment below, but I think it’s likely to be a myriad of reasons from things like not wanting to stand out too much, not wanting to draw critique or criticism, fear of getting torn down and yes, fear of getting lifted up too. It’s beyond beautifully true what Marianne Williamson said in her incredible book ‘A Return to Love.’ “Your playing small does not serve the world.” There is such truth in that. When you are playing small as a life coach something you could create that may…

Tedx Talk Little Lonsdale St Women: Compassionately Questioning the Voice Within by Julie Parker

January 7th, 2013 | 12 comments

I’m so delighted to announce that my Tedx Talk ‘Compassionately Questioning the Voice Within’ delivered on December 1st 2012 at Tedx Little Lonsdale St Women is now live! It’s here for you below and is all about the power of self-compassion and how you can use that to cultivate a more positive inner voice for yourself. I share some personal anecdotes (never before heard in public!) about my sordid Bridget Jones dating history and you’ll notice a wee wobble in my voice right at the end where for a moment I thought I might shed a tear. In thinking about it post the event I think it was me wanting the audience to really, really believe in what I was telling them which was that we all have within us the capacity to be amazing and beautiful. Enjoy beautiful you…love to hear your thoughts in a comment below.

You Can’t Make Everyone Like You

June 25th, 2012 | 2 comments

Let’s get the super important stuff out on the table first. You are amazing, worthy and beautiful just. as. you. are. There’s no denying that from my camp and I hope you believe that about yourself too. But. And yes – there’s a but. Despite your amazingness, worthiness and beauty – you will never be able to get every person you ever come in touch with to love you, or for that matter, even like you. Nor will everyone want to be your life coaching client. And that’s ok. Truly it is. You might be wondering – but why? If I am a good, kind, positive and giving person – why wouldn’t everyone like me and even love me? Why wouldn’t they see the beauty in me that others do and I do for myself? If I know in my heart I am a great life coach why wouldn’t someone…
